Replacing the
secondary disk
To replace the secondary disk in a shadowed system, follow
these steps.
9 Is the replacement disk drive of equal or greater capacity?
Step Action
IF the replacement disk
drive is of THEN
equal capacity perform a restore from
backup.

Step Action
1 Disable disk shadowing.
2 Courtesy down the system.
3 Power down the system.
4 Replace the disk drive.
a. Loosen the screw on the faceplate covering the disk drive,
and slide it up and out.
b. Verify that the new disk drive has the same part number,
including suffix, as shown on the packing slip.
c. Ensure that the SCSI IDs are correct.
Note:
For a shadowed system, the SCSI ID on the
secondary disk is 2.
