The process to check the VID and PID in Windows 7 is to go to Device Manager (You can get here if you

press Windows key + R, and type devmgmt.msc and hit enter). In most cases, the fingerprint reader will

be under the “Biometric Devices” section, but this can vary based on the manufacturer. Expand the

heading and right click the device name. Select properties, and navigate to the Details tab. Change the

“Property” down arrow to say “Hardware Ids”. Under Value, it will list the VID_# and PID_#.
